Nicaragua Planning Trip, July 2017

Although this was not an official mission per se, and was planned to setup our 2018 dental mission, it turned out to be so much more than just a planning trip.

Accompanied by family members from The Farm Bakery and Events in Quakertown, PA, and Planet Smoothie in Doylestown, PA, who had organized a shoe and small toys drive, we transported about (10) crates of donations to be distributed at various locations in Nicaragua.

We visited Club Esperanza in La Chureca, a municipal waste disposal area, where we will be treating in January 2018, and met with (non-profit) who we will be partnering with to treat the children there.

We donated more than (100) pairs of shoes, school supplies, Bibles, and more to Club Esperanza and to a couple other communities where we had treated in February.

We were also able to help fund a clean water project which will bring clean, potable water to a community of around (100) houses and (500) people who have never had access to clean water.

While we were there visiting a school, and handing out the donations, we also instrumented a cleanup project at the school.

Also, while we were touring in Masachapa, a fishing community on the coast, the high tides and currents were wreaking havoc to the area and we helped one family save their porch, and home front from being a total loss.
